We’ve received quite a lot of feedback and suggestions from you on how to handle name collisions since we outlined the process for server merge same-name conflicts. Limitations in our merge tools prevent us from applying criteria to determine the rightful owner of a name in advance of the merge. To balance that shortcoming, we’re devoting a lot of customer service attention to resolving any name change abuse or name poaching. After listening to your feedback, we’ve incorporated that feedback into an abuse resolution policy. The appeals process of this policy applies to cases where a lower level character claims the name of a more active, higher level character. The process also addresses cases where two active, high-level characters make claims to the same name. Our Server Merge FAQ has been updated with more information, including what criteria we’ll be looking at to determine the rightful owner of a name and instructions for submitting your appeal. —The Aion Community Team |
