If you’re in the area and planning on attending the show, seek us out, we adore hearing from our fans. If you can’t make the event but live in the area, feel free to follow our whereabouts with Foursquare. If you manage to track us down, we might even have some goodies for you!

Mittlerweile ist es März geworden aber der Winter hat uns trotzdem wieder fest im Griff. Da kommt eine Alternative zum bitterkalten Spaziergang gerade recht. Ab diesem Freitag, den 12. März um 20:00 MEZ werden wir wieder doppelte Erfahrungspunkte auf allen europäischen Servern vergeben. Der Bonus bleibt über das gesamte Wochenende erhalten und endet am Montag um 8:00 morgens MEZ.

Markiert euch die Tage im Kalender, bringt die Rechner zum Glühen und heizt damit eure Wohnung!

« Les récentes nouvelles au sujet des deux mises à jour 1.9 et 2.0 m’ont rendu confus.Quelle est la différence entre les deux et quand seront-elles disponibles en Europe et en Corée ? »

La version d’Aion en Corée est toujours un petit peu plus avancée que celle de l’ouest. Il nous arrive d’obtenir des mises à jour plus rapidement ; d’autres fois et pour différentes raisons, nous devons attendre un peu plus longtemps avant que celles-ci ne soient implémentées dans notre version du jeu. Si une mise à jour contient un grand nombre de contenus à traduire en Anglais, Français et Allemand, celle-ci prendra plus de temps à être mise en place.

A l’heure actuelle, toutes les versions d’Aion de l’ouest sont 1.5. La version 1.9 est récemment sortie en Corée sur le serveur public de test, mais à part cela, aucune date n’a été officiellement annoncée quant à la sortie officielle de cette version sur tous les serveurs coréens. De la même manière, nous n’avons pas encore annoncé quand la version 1.9 sera déployée sur les serveurs nord-américains et européens – les équipes de localisation travaillent dur et nous sommes très impatients de mettre cette version du jeu entre les mains des joueurs dès qu’elle sera prête.

La version « 2.0 » est une future mise à jour dont juste le nom a été mentionné en Corée – il n’y a aucune date de confirmée pour le moment en Asie comme en Occident.

Nos fidèles lecteurs de Eye on Community se rappelleront que la semaine dernière fut aussi excitante que mouvementée – Cette semaine l’est encore plus !

Le monde entier fut invité à découvrir ce que nous réservons à nos joueurs en termes de contenus pour cette année lors d’une réunion secrète dans nos bureaux de NCsoft West et à l’occasion d’une conférence de presse en Corée. La mise à jour 1.9 a véritablement déchaîné les joueurs – celle-ci sera implémentée pendant la première moitié de l’année en Europe.

Une autre nouvelle tout aussi excitante fut annoncée vendredi dernier : Le Magazine officiel d’Aion sera bientôt disponible.  Au départ, ce dernier se concentra principalement sur des aides aux joueurs débutants afin de les aider à faire leurs premiers pas dans le monde d’Aion, mais par la suite, vous y trouverez de précieuses nouvelles communautaires (événements, concours, etc.). Notre objectif est de créer une mine d’informations à la fois cool, périodique et intéressante pour vous tous.

"Ich habe mich gefreut, die Patchnotes zum Update 1.9 lesen zu können aber vorher habe ich immer etwas von 2.0 gehört und auch immer noch schwirrt diese Bezeichung herum. Was hat es mit den Nummern auf sich?"

Die koreanischen Server sind uns immer ein wenig voraus, was Updates der Spielversion angeht. Manchmal können wir die westlichen Server schnell aktualisieren (wenn es wenig zu übersetzen gibt), manchmal wird es aber auch länger dauern, wenn wir viel Arbeit hinter den Kulissen leisten müssen, um alles zum Laufen zu bringen.

Bezüglich der 1.5/1.9/2.0 Situation sollte man erwähnen, dass derzeit alle Regionen mit der Version 1.5 laufen. In Korea wurde erst vor Kurzem Version 1.9 auf den öffentlichen Testserver aufgespielt, es gibt aber auch in Korea noch kein konkretes Datum dafür, wann das Update auf die Live-Server kommt. Dementsprechend gibt es auch noch kein Veröffentlichungsdatum dafür hier bei NCsoft West aber die Arbeiten an der Lokalisation haben bereits begonnen und wir freuen uns schon darauf, euch damit spielen zu lassen, sobald alles fertig ist. Die Bezeichnung 2.0 bezieht sich auf ein zukünftiges Update, das in Korea bereits erwähnt wurde aber das noch ein wenig mehr in der Zukunft liegt und auch hier noch kein Datum für die Veröffentlichung bekannt ist.

Es war in der Tat eine aufregende Woche. Alles begann damit, dass am Montag Lars "{CC}Lisertan" Malcharek das Büro betrat und damit das europäische Community-Team in Brighton komplettierte. 

Kurz darauf wurde er schon mit den offiziellen Patchnotes für das Update 1.9 konfrontiert, die auch Teil unserer Frage der Woche sind.

Außerdem gewährten wir ihm Einblick in das bereits letzte Woche angekündigte offizielle Aion-Magazin. Die erste Ausgabe legt den Schwerpunkt auf den Einstieg in Aion aber hat auch z.B. Guides für Dark Poeta und andere Infos für Veteranen. Spätere Ausgaben werden sich mehr und mehr mit Geschehnissen aus der Community befassen und einen gesunde Balance zwischen interessanten aber auch hilfreichen Artikeln bieten. Für die heutige Ausgabe des Eye on Community haben wir auch gleich ein paar Kostproben herausgesucht. The folks over at Massively, Kotaku, MMORPG, IGN and TenTonHammer  had the opportunity to ask Aion Producer Chris “Kinslon” Hager a couple of questions prior to the patch notes release. Wie einige unserer aufmerksameren Anhänger vielleicht bemerkt haben, fand ein streng geheimes, wichtiges, entscheidendes und in vielerlei Hinsicht sensationelles Treffen zwischen unserem europäischen und nordamerikanischen Firmensitz statt. Das Meeting wurde zeitgleich mit einer Pressekonferenz mit mehr als 60 geladenen Journalisten in NCsofts koreanischem Hauptsitz abgehalten.

Leider können wir keine Transkription unseres Meetings mit euch teilen. Die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen während der Sitzung waren strenger als je zuvor, um nur die Lavagruben und wutschnaubenden Bullen als Beispiele anzuführen, die das Durchsickern an Informationen nicht wirklich verlockend erscheinen ließen.  Ziel des Meetings war es die Patchnotes für den kommenden Patch 1.9  für Aion festzulegen, und wir wollten die Ergebnisse natürlich mit euch teilen.

Wir sind nicht sicher, ob unsere taktilen Gespräche, unsere überlegenen Überredungskunst oder vielleicht Kinslons Leidenschaft für Schokolade zum Erfolg geführt haben, aber wir haben die Erlaubnis erhalten zu veröffentlichen, was besprochen wurde - trotz der Diskretion des Meetings.

·         Funktionalität der Gruppensuche und die Benutzeroberfläche wird verbessert werden

·         Neue Fähigkeiten für jede Klasse (einschließlich neuer Fähigkeiten speziell zur Bekämpfung von Betäubungsattacken)

·         Dutzende von täglichen Quests mit unterschiedlichen Zielen und Belohnungen!

·         Neue Quests, Erhöhung von Quest-Belohnungen und Drop-Raten in Instanzen

·         Erweiterung der Dredgion

·         Maximale Verzauberungsstufe von Gegenständen wird auf +15 erhöht

·         Erhöhung der Erfahrungssammlung (inklusive des neuen Systems „Energie der Rettung“

·         Kosten der Seelenheilung, der Seelenbindung und des Flugtransports werden sinken

·         Eine neue Mechanik, die es ermöglichen wird, Zwei-Hand-Waffen mit anderen Waffen zu kombinieren, um mächtigere Waffen herzustellen

Bleibt dran und seht euch die vorläufigen Patch-Notes (weit über 20 Seiten lang) an, wenn sie im Laufe dieser Woche veröffentlicht werden.

Comme certains de nos lecteurs les plus observateurs ont pu le remarqué, une réunion importante, top secrète et extraordinaire pour de si nombreuses raisons, vient juste d’avoir lieu entre nos équipes américaines et européennes. Cette réunion a eu lieu en même temps qu’une conférence de presse au siège de NCsoft en Corée où plus de 60 journalistes étaient conviés.

Malheureusement nous ne pouvons pas vous transmettre l’enregistrement de cette réunion. En effet, les mesures de sécurité mises en place pendant cette réunion furent très strictes, des puits de lave aux lions nourris aux yaourts pendant deux semaines… bref, la fuite d’informations n’était pas vraiment la meilleure idée. L’objectif de cette réunion était de compiler les notes de la future mise à jour 1.9 et nous souhaitions rependre la nouvelle.

Nous ne savons pas si c’est grâce à notre charme, à nos compétences suprêmes de persuasion ou peut être au faible de Kinslon pour le chocolat, mais nous avons obtenu la permission de publier ce qui fut discuté, malgré l’exigence de confidentialité la plus totale.

• - Fonctionnalité de recherche de groupe et interface utilisateur améliorées
• - Nouvelles compétences pour toutes les classes, incluant de nouvelles compétences dédiées à contrer les attaques paralysantes (stun)
• - Douzaines de quêtes journalières avec différents objectifs et récompenses !
• - Nouvelles quêtes et probabilité d’obtenir des récompenses de quêtes et en instance agrandie
• - Améliorations diverses du Dredgion
• - Enchantement maximum d’objets augmenté à +15
• - Augmentation du gain d’expérience (incluant un nouveau système : « Energie du Salut »)
• - Coûts associés à la guérison d’âme, au lien d’âme et au transport aérien réduits
• - Mécanisme permettant à 2 armes à deux mains d’être combinées avec d’autres armes afin de créer une arme encore plus puissante

As some of our more observant followers noticed, a top secret, critical meeting just took place between our European and North American offices. This meeting was held in parallel with a press conference with over 60 invited journalists that took place at the same time in NCsoft’s Korean headquarters.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a transcript of the meeting to share. Security precautions for the meeting were aggressive—including the use of lava pits and muscular bulls—which made leaking the information during the meeting an uninviting option. The objective of the meeting was to nail down the patch notes of the upcoming version 1.9 patch for Aion.

We don’t know whether it was because of our tactful dialogue with the parties involved, our supreme abilities of persuasion, or perhaps Kinslon’s affinity for chocolate, but we were able to procure permission to publish some highlights about what was discussed in spite of the meeting’s confidential nature.

•     New skills for every class (including new skills specifically for countering stun attacks)

•     Dozens of daily quests with different objectives and rewards

•     New quests, increased quest rewards, and increased instance drop rates

•     Dredgion enhancements

•     Max item enchantment increased to +15

•     An increase in experience gain (including a new experience bonus system:  Energy of Salvation)

•     Soul Healing, Soul Binding, and Flight Transportation cost decreases

•     A mechanic that allows two two-handed weapons to be combined to create one more powerful two-handed weapon

•     Looking for group (LFG) functionality improvements

•     Numerous user interface improvements

Stay tuned, and make sure to grab the tentative patch notes (far exceeding 20 pages in length) when they’re published later this week.

Der März beginnt, die kalten Tage scheinen sich auch so langsam zu verabschieden, doch ich freue mich, euch den neuen deutschen Community Coordinator Lars Malcharek vorstellen zu können. Ab heute, wird er euch im offiziellen Forum als {CC}Lisertan über den Weg laufen, für Recht und Ordnung sorgen, uns berichten, worüber ihr euch so unterhaltet und uns CM’s höchstwahrscheinlich mit Fragen aus der Community löchern.

Die Suche hat ein wenig gedauert aber mit Lars haben wir einen erfahrenen und von Aion begeisterten Kollegen aus der Branche geholt, der sich schnell im Forum und der Community zurechtfinden wird (Jetzt baue ich aber ein wenig Druck auf. Keine Sorge, Lars). Am Besten lasse ich ihn selbst das Wort ergreifen, damit er sich mal vorstellen kann. Bitte heißt ihn herzlich willkommen! Er hat auf jeden Fall eine interessante Woche erwischt und kann sich gleich so richtig reinstürzen.

Hallo Community,

dann darf ich mich heute vorstellen. Mein Name ist also Lars " Lisertan" Malcharek, ich bin 31 Jahre alt und aus dem Ruhrpott nach Zürich - und von dort aus ganz frisch nach Brighton gezogen. Gearbeitet habe ich bis Dezember als Community Coordinator an einem anderen MMO, ehe es mich dann nun eben zu AION und damit zu euch gezogen hat. Meinen Spielstil in MMOs würde ich als "RPler und PvEler" beschreiben, nicht weil ich PvP nicht mag ( ganz im Gegenteil ) sondern weil meine PvP Versuche als "gewollt aber nicht gekonnt" zu beschreiben sind ( Ja der Eine oder Andere von euch hat mich vermutlich schon umgehauen ;) ). Zu MMOs kam ich im Jahr 2003 mit Star Wars Galaxies, von wo aus ich dann bis heute durch die verschiedenen MMOs gezogen bin, um letztlich eben bei AION zu landen. Meine sonstigen Hobbys sind mit "Kino und Rollenspiel" schnell zusammengefasst.

Ich freue mich darauf mit euch zu arbeiten und hoffe das ich möglichst viele eurer Fragen beantworten kann und das wir gemeinsam interessante Diskussionen beginnen werden.

Très bonne question Dorthax- personne n’a encore osé pose cette question dans les rues de Pandaemonium. Il ya différentes thèses concernant l’union éventuelle d’un(e) Asmodien(ne) avec un Elyséen(ne). Néanmoins tout le monde s’accorde à dire que cela serait terrible. Il ne fait nul doute que les Seigneurs Shedim condamneraient cette alliance qu’ils jugeraient traîtresse ; Et malgré leurs différences, les Seigneurs Seraphim agiraient assurément de la même manière !

Etant donné l’ampleur de ce tabou, le mieux que l’on puisse faire est de vous conter les rumeurs qui circulent…

D’un côté il y a ceux qui pensent que les Asmodiens et les Elyséens sont tellement différents qu’une telle union est impossible. Selon eux, même si la barrière de la langue et de la culture était franchie, la différence physique serait telle qu’elle rendrait la procréation impossible.

D’autres disent que la réalité est pire : Le fruit de leur union serait un être pernicieux, brutal, un enfant à l’instinct animal qu’il serait impossible d’instruire ou de raisonner. Cet enfant entrainerait la chute des deux territoires. Le bruit court que cet enfant hantant le monde est déjà né. Il serait la progéniture de deux Seigneurs Empyréens qui, par honte, l’aurait renié.

Enfin, une minorité persiste à dire que tout cela n’est qu’un conte que l’on raconte aux jeunes Daevas pour les effrayer. Ils affirment même qu’une telle union serait merveilleuse et ouvrirait la voie vers la réconciliation des deux peuples. Bien sûr, ce discours n’est pas toléré par la Cours de l’Ombre.

Nous venons de passer une semaine bien excitante et ce weekend promet de l’être encore plus avec l’expérience doublée pour tous. Mercredi, vous avez pu lire dans la lettre du Producteur d’Aion plus de détails sur ce que nous prévoyons de sortir pendant la première moitié de l’année. Pour rappeler ce que Kinslon a dit, nous sommes constamment à l’écoute de vos commentaires et collaborons plus que jamais avec l’équipe de développement en Corée. Les prochaines mises à jour amélioreront de nombreux aspects du jeu que nous avons pu identifier suite à vos commentaires et elles continueront d’innover et de perfectionner encore plus le jeu afin de donner à tous nos fans la meilleure expérience de jeu possible.

Nous savons que vous êtes affamés d’information, et comme Kinslon l’a indiqué, nous souhaiterions vraiment partager avec vous ce que nous discutons en interne, mais comme vous l’imaginez, nous devons faire attention et tout ne peut pas être dit tout de suite. Cela n’a jamais été notre but que de vous cacher quoi que ce soit, si nous ne pouvons pas tout vous dire, c’est aussi pour éviter de vous décevoir dans le cas où tel ou tel projet ne venait pas à être concrétisé. Très souvent, nos idées traversent de nombreux changements importants avant qu’elles ne soient implémentées dans le jeu – si bien sûr après les avoir testées, nous décidons de donner le feu vert. Ceci dit, nous apprécions beaucoup la patience dont vous avez fait preuve pendant ces derniers mois.

La semaine prochaine, l’équipe d’Aion se retrouvera pour discuter de la liste des nouveautés qui seront introduites dans le jeu pendant la première moitié de 2010, suivie d’une discussion sur une mise à jour encore plus importante introduite plus tard dans l’année. Nous ne pouvons pas vous en dire plus pour le moment, mais nous ferons de notre mieux pour vous obtenir un scoop prochainement.

Gute Frage,Dorthax – jedoch solltest du sie nicht öffentlich auf den Straßen vonPandämonium stellen.  Es gibt vieleTheorien darüber, was dann passieren würde aber die meisten stellen es alskeine gute Idee dar. Sollte so eine Liebe jemals stattgefunden haben, dannhaben es die Beteiligten sehr geheim gehalten. Aus einem guten Grund, denn ineiner Kriegssituation, wie sie in Atreia herrscht, würde jemand, der sichderart mit dem Feind vereint, ziemlich sicher als Verräter gesehen werden.

Auch wenn es einabsolutes Tabuthema ist, können wir aber einen schnellen Überblick über dieGerüchte, die man sich erzählt, geben.

Es gibt dieLeute, die der Meinung sind, dass sich Asmodier und Elyos mittlerweile sovoneinander unterscheiden, dass so etwas nicht mehr passieren kann. Selbst wenndie Beiden die Hürden ihrer unterschiedlichen Kulturen und Sprachen überwindenund sich ineinander verlieben könnten, dann wären sie körperlich nicht mehrkompatibel und könnten ihre Liebe nicht ausleben, geschweige denn ein Kindgebären. Andere wiederum sagen, dass die Realität noch viel schlimmer ist. DasPaar könnte in der Tat ein Kind zur Welt bringen, doch dieses wäre irre,brutal, von animalischen Instinkten getrieben und würde sich nichts sagen oderlehren lassen. Man sagt, dieses Kind würde den Untergang Elyseas und Asmodaeseinleiten. Es gibt jedoch Erzählungen, die besagen, dass solch ein Kind bereitsgeboren wurde und das es immer noch lebt und in der Welt umherwandert. Es sollsich sogar um einen Abkömmling zweier empyrianischen Gebieter handeln, die sichvoller Scham von ihrem Kind abgewandt haben.

Dann gibt es nochdiejenigen, die sagen, dass diese Geschichten nur Märchen sind, die jungeDaevas von solchen Gedanken abbringen sollen. Die behaupten, dass es einewunderbare Vereinigung wäre und sogar den Weg zu einer Annäherung der beidenSeiten ebnen könnte.  Das Verbreitensolcher Gerüchte ist jedoch strikt untersagt.

Es war eine aufregendeWoche und es sieht nach einem ebenfalls sehr spannenen Wochenende aus, da wir wiederden Startschuss für doppelte Erfahrungspunkte abgeben werden. Am Mittwochkonntet ihr bereits von unserem Aion Producer Kinslon erste Infos darüberlesen, was noch im ersten Halbjahr für Aion geplant ist. Um es nocheinmal zu verdeutlichen, was er schon gesagt hat, wir beobachten euerFeedback ganz genau und arbeiten enger denn je mit den koreanischen Entwicklernzusammen. Die nächsten Patches werden für eine solide Basis sorgen, indemmit ihnen mehrere Aspekte, gemäß eures Feedbacks, verbessert werden.Darüberhinaus werden nach wie vor innovative Spielelementehinzugefügt und die allgemeine Spielerfahrung den Standardsangepasst, die unsere treuen Fans sehen wollen.

Wir wissen, dassihr nach Informationen lechzt, wie Kinslon sagte, würden wir euchliebend gerne alles sagen, worüber wir intern reden, aber wir müssen aufpassen,was wir euch versprechen. Wir halten die Sachen nicht absichtlich geheim, wirwollen nur vermeiden, dass zuviel versprochen wird und es dann enttäuschteGesichter zu sehen gibt, falls die Pläne sich dann doch ändern. Es kommtwirklich sehr oft vor, dass die Ideen mehrmals drastisch abgeändertwerden, bevor sie endgültig implementiert werden. Aber auch nur dann,wenn sie wirklich die Tests bestehen und dann implementiert werden. Nachdemdies gesagt ist, danken wir euch für die Geduld, die ihr bereits in den letztenMonaten aufbringen musstet.

In der nächstenWoche wird sich unser Aion-Teamzusammensetzen und die Liste der geplanten Features für die erste Hälftedes Jahres 2010 absegnen. Nebenbei wird es auch Gespäche über ein späteres,noch viel größeres Update geben. Habt also noch ein wenig Geduld, noch könnenwir nicht viel sagen, aber wir werden versuchen, ein paar versteckte Hinweisebereits ninjamäßig unter das Volk zu bringen.

Good question, Dorthax—but not one you’d want to ask openly in the streets of Pandaemonium. There are many conflicting ideas about what would happen if an Asmodian and an Elyos got together, but most everyone seems to agree that it would be bad indeed. If this event has ever happened, those involved have certainly kept it quiet. And for good reason; in the current situation of all-out war, the Shedim Lords would not look kindly on someone who chose to consort with the enemy, and would most likely see them as a traitor. For all their differences in other areas, the Seraphim Lords appear to feel the same way.

Given such a taboo, the best we can do is give a quick overview of the many rumors in circulation.

There are those who say that the Asmodians and the Elyos are so different that such a thing could never happen. Even if the two were able to overcome their different cultures and languages enough to fall for each other, they would find that they are too physically different to consummate their love or to conceive a child. Others say that the reality is even worse, that the pairing would produce a child--a twisted, brutal, animalistic child, who could not be taught or reasoned with. This child, it is said, would bring about the downfall of both Elysea and Asmodae. There are whispers that such a child has already been born, that he lives and stalks the world, and that he is the offspring of none other than two Empyrean Lords, whose shame has driven them to disown their child.

Finally, there are a very few who say that these are grisly folk tales told to frighten young Daevas away from even considering such ideas. They claim that it would be a beautiful union, and may even pave the way toward reconciliation of the two warring sides. Naturally, such treasonous speech is not tolerated by the Shadow Court.

On Wednesday, you heard from Aion’s producer, who disclosed some information about what we’re working to bring to the live servers in the first half of the year. To reiterate what Kinslon said, we’re listening to your feedback and are collaborating with the Korean development team more than we ever have in the past. The next couple of updates will build upon an already solid foundation by improving aspects of the game that we’ve identified based on your feedback. These updates will continue to enhance the experience that our loyal fans have come to expect.

We appreciate the patience you’ve shown us over the last couple of months. We know you want information, and as Kinslon said, we’d love to tell you everything we’re talking about internally, but we have to be careful about what we do share. We don’t intentionally avoid sharing details because we want to. We do so to avoid disappointing you later if our plans don’t come to fruition. So often, our ideas go through fundamental changes before they’re implemented, even if we decide to implement them after testing.

Next week, the Aion team is meeting to finalize our feature list for the update planned for the first part of 2010 and to discuss an even larger update that will follow later in the year. We can’t say much more then that in this update, but we will try to ninja leak something out to you soon.
